Happy Thursday everyone! So lately I have been striving to keep all sources of negativity out of my life if possible. Negativity is something I’ve never really tolerated, whether it be in real life or on social media. I see so many people impacted by the rudeness of others, and it’s heartbreaking to see how it impacts people’s happiness. So brace yourselves for the possibility of a long post, but I promise it will be worth it.
Negativity in Life
We have all been in the position of dealing with someone that is nothing but negative at least once in our life. Someone that constantly brings you and others down just to build themselves up. This someone may not even use words to be negative, it could be their actions. The characteristics of a negative person are endless. One thing that always comes from people like this is drama. I’ve learned that negative people feed off drama. They cannot stand to not know what is going on with everyone else and have an opinion on it.
This quote sums up perfectly how I feel about negativity in life. I REFUSE to entertain it, so why are you?
Whenever I meet someone that gives off negative vibes, I don’t tend to keep them around to long. Why? Because drama is a waste of time.
So if you find yourself wrapped up in a sea of drama and negativity, take a step back and look at the people you have surrounded yourself with. Do these people support you in your goals? Are these people there for you when you need advice? Would they drop everything to help you if needed? Most importantly, are these people positive about life?
If not, why keep them around?
Negativity on Social Media
Now negativity on social media is something that really gets me. I personally believe that it is the biggest waste of time. Why do people feel the need to tear people down behind the shield of a computer or phone screen? It’s pointless.
In order to keep negativity off of my social media, every once in awhile I will “purge” my accounts. This “purge” consists of unfollowing any people that are consistently negative, people I do not know, and people that I no longer wish to see their posts.
Another way I manage to keep negativity away from me is set my accounts to private and block those who attempt to bring me down. I have received several rude comments on my blog criticizing me for my post content and how I choose to deliver my content. I bet some of you are thinking, “but I’ve never seen these negative comments on this blog?” If you thought this, you are right. When someone comments on my blog, the comment must go through me before it is visible to my readers. So take that haters!!!
My blog is a reflection of me, because I strive to bring positivity into the lives of those around me, so will my blog.
This concept applies to way more than comments on a blog. If anyone is trying to bring you down via social media, BLOCK THEM. It’s as simple as that. If you don’t like what this person has to say or how they treat you, you have the opinion to get rid of them with just one click.
Surround yourself with things that bring happiness into your life. Everyone deserves that much.
So there you have it, another Classy Redhead rant! I really hope you guys can take something from this and live positive!
