Mountain Date Recap

Hey there everyone! I hope everyone is having a great week, I know I am! Today on the blog I’m doing a little recap of my first summer mini adventure.

So, this week I decided to surprise my boyfriend with a date filled of adventure. One perk of where I live is the proximity to the mountains. With just a short drive from my house you can end up in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The first stop of our date was lunch at Side Street Pizza, in Tyron, NC. Side Street Pizza is obviously known for there amazing pizzas and pasta. Here we dined on a delicious meat and veggie pizza.

Im so bad about not taking a good pic of my food, so enjoy my mediocre snap.

After a wonderful lunch, we hit the road towards Lake Lure, NC. In Lake Lure we took a stop at The Flowering Bridge to enjoy the views of the lake and of Chimney Rock (because ya girl wasn’t hiking a mountain in the heat).

This bridge is one of my favorite sites of Lake Lure. This walking bridge was once an accessible road, until the new one was built. Instead of tearing down the old one, members of the community turned it into a beautiful garden. As you walk along the bridge, you get to see a variety of flowers and herbs all while enjoying the view.

Once we finished walking the garden, we jumped back in the car and headed towards Saluda, NC. The drive to Saluda is probably one of my favorites only because of the windy mountain roads. There’s just something about driving through the mountains thats always been my favorite. Once we got to Saluda, we spent some time to walk around downtown and stopped in the local General Store. I failed to snap a few pics of this beautiful town because it was so extremely hot…my bad.

We ended our day of adventure with some good ol’ fishing on the river (aka my backyard). Unfortunately, we missed the prime fishing hours and only caught a few bait fish.

Overall, this day was such a great day. It’s always fun when you get to make memories with the one you love! Stay tuned for more summer adventures, and thanks for reading!
